Yesterday I had the chance to meet up with a friend of mine and enjoy some time with her. Our city has opened up a little (we are now in stage 3) and we are now able to enjoy, once again, the pleasure of dining in a restaurant. My friend and I decided that we would breakfast at one of our favourite spots and enjoy a meal that we had not prepared for ourselves.

We enjoyed our top-up coffee with some fruit and the eggs Benedict that we had ordered. Delicious! As expected, the conversation flowed non-stop; there was not a moment of quiet as we worked on sharing as much as we could in the time we had together.
This week I am grateful not only to have seen my friend, but also to have had the chance to dine in at a restaurant – an experience pre-COVID that I had taken for granted!
What are you grateful for this week?

That sounds wonderful and your breakfast looks delicious. I’m grateful for FaceTime calls with family for my and my mom-in-law’s birthdays and also for the fact that hubby and I got to dine out at a beachfront restaurant on my birthday.

I am so grateful for the internet. The quarantine experience would have been even more devastating without the ability to connect with family and friends online.

I agree. We’re very fortunate, Colline.

Nothing better than having a moment of “normal” – they are so few and far between!

You are so right John. Despite the near empty restaurant, eating there felt normal – and so enjoyable.

Good fun! Sadly I won’t be doing anything like this until we have an effective, proven vaccine, but in the meantime it’s good to see the numbers going down allowing people to get out more.

My thoughts too. I worry about the economy and people’s ability to survive this mentally as well as financially.

I am also grateful for the first time eating out this week. And for continued health.

Isn’t it wonderful to see friends and enjoy a meal. Last week was the first time since March when my husband and I went out to dinner complete with table service (outdoors) a delicious meal and I didn’t have to clean up!

Something we have missed doing as a family too – a simple thing and yet it makes living enjoyable.
