One of the habits that I have adopted since the isolation period due to COVID-19 has been walking most days for an hour in my neighbourhood. My reasons for walking are two-fold: for exercise and for my mental health. I have found that going outside for a walk has helped me with the cabin-fever I was experiencing, as well as my feelings of sadness.

What I currently enjoy on my walks are the beautiful flowers that are blossoming everywhere – on the trees and in gardens everywhere. Their pollen does affect my hay fever but seeing their beauty encourages me to brush aside my discomfort.

Despite some windy days that we have had, many of the small blossoms are still tightly packed between green leaves. I am pleased with that because seeing the small flowers do add plenty of joy to my walk.

Seeing these blossoms this morning made me smile once again – so much so that I had to share their beauty with you. π
What made you smile this morning?

I can see why. When the magnolia trees were blooming a few weeks ago, it was a delight walking my dog the extra couple of blocks to watch them change every day. π

It is actually very hot – for the last three days we have been experiencing a heat wave. I would come back from my walk at 8:30am with a sweat-soaked t-shirt π

I’ve had plenty to smile about lately, Colline, including walking with a couple of friends and sharing a meal afterwards. Still no hugs and maintaining sensible distance, of course, but it’s wonderful to ease back into the world. Hope you can soon do the same. π€ππ

Beautiful flowers. I walk as well to help my mood improve. If I look at flowers and get out of my mind, that’s when I know the walk has helped.

The flowering trees have been amazing this year. Ours are mostly finished, the seemed to take forever to bloom and then poof! But they sure were pretty. Katie-girl, of course, makes me smile. This morning we went on a short walk in the woods where we both smiled a lot.

I was so thankful that the blooms held on during a storm we had. On my current walks I see that some trees are only now starting to bloom.
