Morning Walk Rooftops

This morning on my walk I could not help but admire the rooftops that stand proudly against the blue sky. I enjoy looking at the houses on this stretch of road as they are each unique in their own way.

One homeowner has set their house apart from its neighbours as they have placed a moose on the roof. I remember being surprised the first time I saw this a number of years ago. Now it is merely a landmark that tells me I am near to the major intersection.

Why a moose – or the smaller caribou? you may ask. Maybe because it is an animal that typically represents Canada. I have always imagined these homeowners as being patriotic.

I enjoyed my early morning walk today – and tomorrow plan to walk another route. My nod at the caribou will happen some time next week when I walk this way again.

Would you place a moose on your roof?

  1. I love this! We are all seeing things differently in this time of Covid – 19…we don’t have Moose on our rooftops, but our neighbor has a GOOSE! Yes, and it like to sing all day long! Kind of cool actually!

  2. Wonderful! Amazing what we see now that we have to walk the same streets! Hope all is well with you and the family Colline. Good to see that your schools may be open in the not too distant future. I imagine the kids will be a little wild when they return and have to adhere to a school timetable again. But until kids return to school I cannot see how parents can return to work. Stay well!

    1. I am hoping Jude. The date for schools re-oping has changed twice now and always with the proviso that the date is not final. When we do go back, it will be a little like the first day of school in a new school year all over again, that is for sure!
