Reading Goal 2020

I enjoy setting a reading goal for myself as it helps to focus my reading and to keep track of how many books I actually read during the year. Last year my goal was 100 books and I managed to read a total of 116. I decided to keep my goal at 100 as my intention is this year to read a few books over 500 pages.

I am planning to focus on the Fantasy genre. Last year I read a number of Fantasy stories after many years and I re-discovered my love of this style. In focusing on these types of stories, I am hoping to not only read Young Adult novels but Adult ones as well.

I shall be keeping track of my reads on two spaces: Goodreads and the Harper Collins Book Pledge. I would love it if you could connect with me in that space, especially if you enjoy reading the same genre of books that I do. My name is : Colline Vinay Kook-Chun. In addition, I will share my reviews on my blog as I have done within the last two years. Please let me know if there is anything you would like me to add to my reviews that would help you with the choice of your next read.

I look forward to an enjoyable year of reading and to immersing myself in the stories of new (to me) authors.

Have you set a reading goal for 2020? If so, share your reading goals in the comments.

  1. I set my goal the same as last year, 52 books, 1 a week. I flew past it last year, but I was injured and out of work for a few months so I had a lot of free time 😂🤣. Hopefully everything stays ok and I can make the goal! Good luck with yours!!

  2. I don’t set a reading goal. I often read nonfiction (memoirs, psychology, personality and spirituality mostly) as well as fiction (most genres, except romance and erotica). I’ve been known to listen to books, if that counts. Unfortunately, I love to watch TV and movies, which can affect the amount of time I read. I also spend a lot of time observing birds.

Right now, I’m reading The Four Tendencies by Gretchen Rubin and The Universal Christ by Richard Rohr. I could use a good fantasy suggestion. 😄

Congratulations on surpassing last year’s goal.

    1. A fantasy novel that has come out this past week is Infinity Son by Adam Silvera. It is the first in a series and is a diverse read as well. The storytelling is magical and I love the characters he has created. I have posted a review of the book if you are interested.

  3. My long-time reading goal is two books a week, and I usually achieve it, so I’m up there at least near 100 books for the year. Great goal. Thanks for sharing and encouraging us. When I post my blog later today, you are getting the Bean Pat for the blog post of the day. Wait a bit then check it out at https://patbean.net
