I cannot believe that it is the start of a New Year – and a new decade! No longer do I celebrate the New Year with parties and fireworks. Instead, I welcome it with a gentle light and the anticipation of new experiences.

I wish you, my readers, a wonderful 2020. May it be filled with light and wonderful experiences.
Happy New Year!

Ooh you’ve gone for candlelight or should I say taperlight?! Great choice of a word ending in light for New Year’s Day π
Happy New Year!

Thank you Becky. I knew I had to share this light that was shining gently on our dinner table last week past week.

Happy New Year, Colline! No more parties for us. We go to bed around 10:00 p.m. When we wake up it’s the new year! π

That is what I do too. It is not worth it to stay up late and then be tired the next day – especially as I am an early riser.

My older son was ill on NY Eve so we didn’t go out for dinner as planned. We also couldn’t have family over the following day because he was still unwell. I really didn’t mind. I’m not much of a NYE celebrations person either.

I think as we get older, the sparkle of NYE celebrations dim π
