If we were having coffee, I would wish you a wonderful Easter – or Passover – if that is what you celebrate at this time of year. This weekend has not only been a time of reflection, but also a period in which to relax. I have been feeling quite tired recently and looked forward to 4 days of no work.
If we were having coffee, I would tell you that Friday afternoon was spent sleeping. After my nap, I left the papers I had brought home to correct in my bag. They still remain carefully organised on the sofa and will probably see light of day tomorrow. I am a little behind on my marking and will take the opportunity during this long weekend to catch up a little while listening to some music.
If we were having coffee, I would tell you that yesterday I met up with a close friend of mine. It had been a while since I had last seen her and we spent hours talking. How I wish we lived nearer to one another so that we could meet up more often. Good friends are definitely treasures to have in one’s life and, to me, she is definitely one of my favourite people.
If we were having coffee, I would tell you that now my girls are older, I no longer organise an Easter egg hunt for them. I also do not buy them loads of chocolate. This year I offered each family member a small packet of Lindt chocolates instead of the requisite Easter rabbits and chocolate eggs. These chocolates will definitely be savoured more, I think, than the sugary offerings that line the store shelves.
If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I am finally going to take the time to figure out how to download/upload some of the music that I have chosen for my practical exam. I currently have 40 minutes of Zumba choreography and will soon I will have enough for an entire class. Maybe another month of practice and I will be ready? On Thursday my Zumba instructor asked me to take over her class quickly for a song – and happily I remembered all of the dance moves! 🙂
If we were having coffee, I would wish you a wonderful week ahead. Schools are closed on Monday so I will have another day at home. 🙂
What would you tell me if we were having coffee?

First, I would congratulate you for having all of the various aspects of your life organized so well – and I would say that the next 8 weeks are going to be crazy busy with two international trips, so planning and organization for me are vital!

You will have to go to Notra Dame, John, and give us first hand feedback on the situation there. I hope it will be rebuilt quickly.

Yes, I plan to visit it when I am there – when my wife and I were in Paris after the concert attack in 2017 I think it was, we visited two fountains that had become shrines for paying tribute to the victims.

You follow (and give) Zumba classes? How fantastic! I love dancing and Zumba is so much fun! Well if we were having coffee I would tell you that I welcome this four days weekend and that I am in the creative process of making my own candles LOL

What fun! And they will look beautiful when all lit up.
I go to Zumba classes a few times a week and am currently working on becoming a Zumba instructor myself.

The Lindt truffles are amazing. I got a package at Christmas and nearly had a heart attack when I found my 4-year-old taking single bites out of them and throwing the rest in the trash.

This past week I traveled to help my sister in her recovery from recent heart surgery. It was a good visit, and she was much better when I left Saturday. Today at our Easter service, the pastor baptized his first grandchildren. Two girls born 4 days apart to two of his children. He carried them up and down the aisle singing “Jesus loves the little children”, and the choir closed the Easter sermon by singing Handel’s Messiah. I went to Easter brunch with two friends and enjoyed a beautiful day!

You certainly lead a very busy and full life, Colline. I remember that when I was teaching, how grateful I was for a short respite in the form of a long weekend. Good luck with your Zumba music.

With my daughter’s help, I managed to get everything working on one device – but not the other 😦 Guess I will be using my iPad for my music instead of my android phone.

You have such a full life even when you aren’t working, Colline! And that’s without the blog! 🙂 🙂 Hope you enjoyed all that you did this weekend and you can start the week refreshed.

We had a lovely long weekend too, Colline, and the lights stayed on the whole time [grin]. I was also tired on Thursday and had a cold starting. I had a heavy weekend of entertaining despite the cold but such is life and it was good to see all the family together. My hubby loves Lindt bunnies.

Me too – but the large ones were sold out by the time I went to buy them. My husband said that he prefers the chocolate balls. The chocolate inside is so creamy.

That sounds like such a balanced, great weekend Colline! I hope you’re enjoying this last day of your long weekend as well. If we were having coffee today I would tell you that I tried being a tourist in my own city this weekend, (after a short trip to California,) that was interesting to say the least. I pushed some of my boundaries in order to do that. I’m not your typical Vegas tourist. Thank you very much for the coffee!

Being a tourist where you live is one of the best ways to explore and discover your city. I am sure you had some interesting adventures 🙂

I agree Colline! Growing up the word tourists equaled th epeople who trashed our quaint country town, and it had a bad taste in my mouth. When I traveled in my early 20’s I did everything I could to not be touristy. Now the word itself have a different meaning for me, and I’m trying to approach it from a different angle, of experiencing something new, being humble and open to learn. Have a fabulous day!
