If we were having coffee, I would greet you with a sigh of relief. Yesterday afternoon I wrote the exam for the Canfitpro course that I did. I was nervous about writing it as there was a lot of material to memorise and understand. Reflecting on my answers afterwards, I know that I have made mistakes. Hopefully, tough, I have enough correct answers to to pass the exam (the pass mark is 80%). I will know my results during the upcoming week. My mind will not be settled until I know.

If we were having coffee, I would tell you that even though my time was taken up with learning the material for the exam, I did read a little. I did not blog as much as I wanted to but I am hoping this week to write some more posts and to visit some blogs. I have a pile of books next to my bed waiting to be reviewed – and it just keeps getting higher. I do this every time but when I am in the mood for reading, I do not want to sit in front of the computer screen and type down my thoughts on what I have read.
If we were having coffee, I would tell you that at the beginning of the week, I had a number of students who were still on vacation. By the end of the week, I had almost a full class and Monday will be back to normal. I have started the inquiry on structures and we are doing quite a bit of building. The children love this unit as it is a lot of fun. I enjoy seeing them design structures and build them.

This week I brought the iPads out again for my students to type their sentences. I took a picture of the structure they had built. Using the app Picolage, the children had to upload the photo and then type what they had built. I am currently still helping them use the iPad, as well as giving them the sentences to copy down. By May I hope to have them working independently.

If we were having coffee, I would tell you that for a few days, it felt like winter again – we even had flurries! This morning, though, the weather was perfect when I went out. It is currently mild – and there is no wind blowing! I am hoping it stays like this for the rest of the week as I really want to put away jackets and boots. My body is tired of wearing all the warm clothing.
This afternoon I will spend time completing my weekend chores and will probably watch a film on Netflix. I have picked up my crochet hook again and am working on a project. Crochet and Netflix go well together ๐
What would you tell me if we were having coffee?

If you were having coffee with me I would tell you that the last textbook I used that looked remotely like the one you were studying was a detailed book on gross anatomy at some point I could name everything about the human body and if you gave me a razor sharp scalpel, I could dissect it into a neat pile of bones and then point out what muscles inserted where,I guess some of that knowledge is still somewhere in my head as nothing ever truly goes away
oh the random things that fill up my head, I could name the first twenty elements of the periodic table by head and classify them by group and tell you their mass and atomic numbers, too bad that information is no use in the day to day life of people haha
have an awesome week

I guess it depends on what you do for a living. I would hope that nurses and doctors learned all of that and retained it ๐

It would be worrying if during an examination the doctor is busy humming to himself and dem bones dem bones this bone is connected to that bone

Thank you. It is nerve-wrecking taking one after having gone years without sitting to write not even a test.

I hope you get good news on the exam this week. Interesting how much things like tablets are used in education these days -a necessary skill! I have used modeling clay and, never mind.. I also hope spring arrives for you (it is warmer here today and most of the snow it gone). Have a good week ๐

Teachers are encouraged to use technology in the classroom – and to get students to develop their skills with it. Even though my students are in grade 1, they are able to start their journey and learn that iPads can be used for more than just games.

Good luck for the exam and hope you did enough for a pass. Sometimes there’s only so much you can do to prepare for an exam. Hope the weather continues to be better over there ๐

Thank you Joy.
I am already a certified Zumba Instructor. However to teach at the gyms here, I need to get the Canadian certification as well.

So much good things going on Colline! I keep my fingers crossed that you passed that test. Maybe you already know by now? I apologize that I am late for our coffee. I’m anticipating the heat that will come sooner than I wish, and I try to go outside during the weekends now, while it’s still safe to do so. I enjoy crocheting too. I will start some new project when it’s too hot to do things outside. My daughter loves crafting, and I taught her crochet when she was 3 years old. We haven’t done it in a while, and I figure it’s about time for a crochet project. I hope your weekend was great, and that your new week got off to a fabulous start!

Yes, I passed – so happy about that! Now I need to start working on my practical exam. I need to choose songs, practice them, ad write lesson plans for them.
I would love to see your crochet project when you start. It is such a relaxing hobby I find. Nice that your daughter does it with you. I taught mine but she is not interested in keeping it up.
