Music Monday: A Little Bit of Mia and Drake

At my Zumba classes I have danced to a lot of music I do not know. I have also danced to music that is apparently on the radio – music I do not know because, alas, I do not tune in to a radio station.

One of the newer songs I have danced to in my classes is Mia by Bad Bunny (featuring Drake). It is only a few weeks ago that I figured out the name of the song and found it on YouTube:

I have no idea what the singer is saying but the tune is catchy and I enjoy dancing to it. This song has been stuck in my head since our last class and I am wondering if our teacher tonight will have it on her playlist. I hope so as I am beginning to remember the moves 🙂

What song is playing in your head today?

  1. Hi Colline,
I relate to what you say about not being up to date with music. I am working my way through the Suzuki violin series and there’s a lot of Bach so I’m centuries out of date.
I’m currently listening to that song and it’s growing on me. I think it’s best heard without the video clip to distract. We usually have the radio on in the car and so I’m somewhat up to date through that.
I’ve had a couple of songs on my mind today. I went to see “Bohemian Rhapsody” last week and that song’s going through along with Quiet from Matilda. They both have that sense of grappling with the questions of life and not being sure of things, which I think it where I’m at with a bit of angst thrown in. It’s the start of the new school year tomorrow. Teachers start tomorrow, my son Wednesday and my daughter on Friday. Just call this place “Chaos Central”.
    Best wishes,
    Rowena

    1. Bohemian Rhapsody – my favourite of Queen’s songs 😊 That was the song running through my head last week until it was pushed out by Mia and Drake.
Hope all goes well with the start to a new school year. The first day is always nerve wrecking.
