Weekend Coffee Share: A Successful Week

If we were having coffee, I would greet you with the news that I have completed my report cards. All I need to do is read through them once more to check for errors before printing and submitting them. I am pleased that they are finally done – I really pushed myself this week to get them finished. Now I can focus on completing a few things with the children (including lots of outdoor play), filing and getting their work ready to go home, and tidying things away in the classroom. I cannot believe that there are only three weeks left of the school year – the last two months have really gone by quickly.

If we were having coffee, I would tell you that it is strange not having my husband at home. After 19 years of living with a person, you get used to having them around. He is missing us too but it is good for him to spend some time with his siblings. One can never be sure when he may have the opportunity again.

If we were having coffee, I would tell you that during the past week I managed to blog 6 days out of 7 days. I have also managed to get my book reviews up to date (the last of them will be posted in the upcoming week). Each time I tell myself that I will keep up with them as I read but something (another book!) gets in the way. I am better able to type my thoughts when I have just completed the book as my reactions are fresh in my mind.

If we were having coffee, I would tell you that the weather has been a little cool this week. The rain we have had has been good for the little garden my class and I planted last week. It is currently surviving – no kids have damaged it by pulling out plants, or running over the flower bed.

If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I am now going to do some grocery shopping. Before I go, I will look in the fridge to see what I didn’t use during the past week. I have not had to cook as much with my husband away so I know that there are some vegetables left over.

If we were having coffee, I would tell you to enjoy your week. Make it a good one!

What would you tell me if we were having coffee?

  1. That is good the the school’s ending is near and you are ready. I prefer a day to wait for a review after I finished the book. I am now writing notes of what I think about a book I have several to write now. Good luck๐Ÿ˜€โ˜บ๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜‡

  2. You have been working so hard, in every area! Good for you. I bet it feels very strange to temporarily be without your husband. Will he be back soon? I wish you a wonderful weekend โค

  3. I also have spent the week trying to get caught up with things. I’ve achieved both cosmetic improvements and actual tasks completed. Ordered wildflower seeds to plant for summer and autumn blooms.

I always feel so lost when my husband must venture out of town without me for a family get-together, even though someone must stay home with the dogs, and I abhor travel. Glad that your husband is able to get together with siblings. My best wishes for him!

So happy that you have had a good week!

    1. Your garden will be beautiful once those seeds are grown and flowering.
My husband is enjoying the chance to see his siblings – though he does miss us. And while he is away, my children are writing exams – and is unable to help them with the Math ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. My husband travels every now and then, Colline, for up to two weeks at a time. It is quite strange when our menfolk are away. I hope he is having a memorable time and I am glad to hear your school garden is growing.

  7. I love the idea that we are chatting over a coffee. Iโ€™m reading this a few weeks after it was published, so my coffee would be cold by now ๐Ÿ˜‚

Are you looking forward to the summer break? I loved the school holidays and having my son home from school. It makes me sad when I hear people say how they dread having their children at home for that long stretch.

Has been nice to stumble across your blog today. I had just searched โ€œweekendโ€ and there it was ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

  8. If we were having coffee Iโ€™d tell you about the new photo challenge that several of us will host beginning next week. Iโ€™d tell you my husband and I are visiting with our kids and granddaughter and that makes us very happy ๐Ÿ˜ƒ. And Iโ€™d tell you I know just what you mean about missing your husband but Iโ€™d also tell you as long as itโ€™s not too often itโ€™s nice only
Having to worry about yourself LOL
