I was still in the mood to read a thriller when I picked up Catherine Coulter’s Knock Out. Two of Coulter’s well known characters are back in this novel: FBI agents Dillon Savage and Lacey Sherlock. Two cases are intertwined within the pages of this tale: a bank robbery and the search for a missing girl, seven year old Autumn. When the young girl is found by Ethan Merriweather, the sheriff of Titusville in Virginia, he learns that she is being hunted by her uncle Blessed – a man who has the ability to control others by looking at them. Dillon Savich becomes involved in the case when Autumn contacts him telepathically.
The story is nail-biting and fast-paced. I could not help cheering on for Autumn, a seven year old who is portrayed as brave and talented. There were moments when I was not sure whether she would survive – not only physically, but also emotionally. And every time she did, I cheered for her. Her mother, Joanna Backman, is fiercely protective of her daughter and is prepared to do anything to make sure she is safe.
I have read Catherine Coulter’s FBI stories before, and was not disappointed with this one. This tale was a quick read that I would recommend to anyone who enjoys reading thrillers.
Do you enjoy reading FBI thrillers?

Hmm, I know she has written a lot of books in differet genres, but the few Regency ‘romances’ of hers that I picked up were very distressingly bad–actual sexual assault and rape etc. by the so-called hero which does not usually show up in the older Regencies, or at least not without there being a real message to it or it being a completely bad book. I have been reluctant to try her other books as a result, but am glad you enjoyed this one. I actually thought she had passed on, since so many of the books were from decades ago.

This is not a recently published book so she may have passed on..
I have only ever read her FBI thrillers so do not know much about the other genres she may have written.

No, they say she’s still alive and only 75. I thought she was much older–
