For many years my husband has been talking about going to see the show Shen Yun. He wanted to see a part of Chinese culture and experience a show that always receives wonderful reviews.
When we first heard of the show, the tickets were out of our price range. But now that we can afford it, we are so busy working that we tend to hear about the show either when it has been sold out, or when the company has left Toronto. The past Christmas, we received a wonderful gift from our son.

The gift was a pair of tickets to go experience Shen Yun. Not only did he buy us tickets, but he also bought us box office tickets. I loved where we were. We were close enough to see well – and I loved that there was no-one in front of us.

The show was beautiful. So graceful and dreamlike. I enjoyed watching the dancing and the visions that had been created from snippets of Chinese culture. Many of the movements reminded me of ballet, and even gymnastics. Of course we were not able to take pictures, but I do have the programme to remind me a little of the experience.
In addition, my husband bought me a beautiful bookmark to remind me of the experience. I love it and it will be put to good use.
This week I am grateful for the experience given to us as a gift by my son. It is an experience I would love to repeat – and one that I would like my daughters to ecperience.

I think we have helped him learn along the way. Also his life experience has helped him realize, I think, how much we have done for him and he is grateful for it.
