Report Cards Are Done!

The last couple of weeks I been been focused on writing report cards. I have been:

  • Assessing my students’ writing and reading.
  • Flipping through my students’ portfolios to determine their level of skill in Math, Science, and Social Studies.
  • Refining comments and inputting them into the reporting system.
  • Spending many hours in front of the computer.

And now they are done! I have submitted them for revision and next week I will make corrections, sign, copy and place them in envelopes. The end of the school year is almost here! Certainly something to smile about as I look forward to relaxing and recharging.

What has made you smile this week?

  1. Your week sounds like mine! I submitted my reports today too. Yahoo! It’s really tough spending so much time on the computer. Now it’s two more weeks until our winter holidays.

  2. Please don’t talk about handwritings – you remind me of my brother’s scrawl. I don’t know how teachers could read his spider web. It must feel good to see the light at the end of year tunnel 🙂

    1. When you read handwriting as part of your job, you learn very quickly to decipher many variations. At least with teaching you get children I don’t have to decipher cursive as they are still writing in script.

  3. Wonderful, Colline! Your summer vacation is ever closer. What do you mean that you submit the report cards for revision? Someone reviews all of them and suggests corrections???

    1. That is exactly what it is Patti. She also proofreads them to see if there are typos of spaces that shouldn’t be there. I do not envy her the job – she has plenty of report cards to read!
