Ahh, good afternoon. The day has been busy so far – I have been exercising, shopping, and doing the laundry. The snow has been falling wetly outside and it is a lot chillier than I thought it would be. Now is the perfect time for a cup of coffee or tea. Which would you prefer? I think I will reach for the Cinnamon Rooibos this afternoon. I am in the mood for a little spice.
This week the school’s have been closed for March Break. There are a few people who call this week off a Spring break but, alas, it is not the correct term for it. The week began with ‘feels like’ temperatures of -17c; temperatures that encourage a person to wish that the warmer season was just around the corner!
On those cold days I spent time curled up on the sofa reading the books I had checked out of our local library; or relaxing with my feet up watching Bones on Netflix and crocheting. Even though it was cold, I did not give my Zumba class a miss – and even went to the noon one offered on a Tuesday. I am really enjoying the dance fitness exercise classes. I am getting fitter and no longer look at the clock on the wall 10 minutes into the session.
The highlight of the week was when my friend came to visit me. She lives quite a distance from where I am and therefore I do not see her very often. Seeing her was wonderful – our friendship picked up from where we had left off the last time we saw one another. It was sad to say goodbye and see her go home. We will see one another again in the Summer – three and a half months is a long time to wait!
Thursday and Friday the weather was beautiful. It was a lot warmer than it had been and the sun was shining. I took the time to go spend a few hours in my classroom. I have been wanting to sort though my cupboards and clear out the things I don’t use. I did not do everything that I wished to, but I made a head start. This morning I bought some more plastic sleeves so that as I go through the boxes of papers I have, I can file what I want to keep. It was peaceful working in my classroom and making some headway with no interruptions.
I am ready for the week to start on Monday. I will spend the rest of the weekend completing my household chores and stocking up the fridge for the week.
Hope you have a good one.
What would you tell me if we were having coffee?

I grew up in northern Ohio and we always had “Spring Break” in mid-March. It usually wasn’t quite this cold, but it was never Spring! One reason Florida (mostly Daytona Beach) does so well off of Ohio Spring Breakers! Sounds like you had a good week of reading and visiting with your friend. i hope next and the return to school goes well! Have a great weekend.

I still can’t get my head around it being called Spring Break – especially as it often happens before the official start of Spring 🙂

I grew up with it called Spring Break, but yeah, it is odd…

Missed you my sister, thanks for the visit on twitter! I was ill and am recuperating, and like a vitamin, or a doctor, you provide the right medicine to bring smiles alive. May your new week be blessed in amazing ways for you and of course your family!

I grew up drinking Rooibos in South Africa – a rooibos with no added flavours. I do admit to enjoying the flavours that David’s Tea adds to these leaves.

I’d love to have coffee with you Colline and talk about our library books. I’ve been using the free Overdrive app to upload books and Audiobooks from Our library. I’ve always avoided this method but have gotten into it now. Glad your friend visited. I’d like to see your crochet and share with you about my knitting. Have a good week.

The break from school is great no matter what is called. My photos showed that my star magnolia would be in full bloom at this time of the year. I did see Forsyth in bloom yesterday. Spring must be near.

Over here in Canada Spring does take a little longer to arrive. I cannot wait to see the shoots of bulbs in the flowerbeds.

I’m glad you enjoyed your break. Our colleges in this area were off this week also. My school and the other public schools in the state have their break either the week before or after Easter. Hopefully it will feel like spring by then! Enjoy your week.

Our Spring break for the schools is 2 weeks sandwiched around Easter so it hasn’t got here yet, Colline. But I did have a lovely break with Spring-like weather on the Island of Anglesey. 🙂 🙂

It is that way in South Africa – and I do prefer it as two weeks gives you the opportunity to really recuperate.

It’s wonderful that you have had an interesting and eventful week. It’s so wonderful catching up with old friends and to find that nothing has changed between us is so amazing. Zumba is on my wish list. Hope to explore it sometimes soon. Have a wonderful week ahead, Colline and see you again this weekend over coffee. Cheers 🙂

I love Zumba. I had wanted to try it for years but was afraid I wouldn’t keep up. I love the attitude of the instructors who encourage you do what you can. And now six months later I am a lot fitter and I am able to do more than I could when I began.

I think it is stupid to call it Spring Break as here, it is the first or second week of March, depending on the school boards. So not spring. Oh well…
Glad you had some time to do things you enjoy plus kept up the exercise!
Have a great week,
