Grateful for Headache Tablets

Yesterday during the day, I could feel a headache building up. It gnawed at my head the entire day. After work I went for a walk, hoping to blow it away. The walk did me good in that I exercised; but it did not lessen the tension around my head. During the night, my throbbing head woke me up and I capitulated – I took a headache pill. I do not enjoy taking these tablets and swallow them only when I can no longer withstand the pain. Taking the over-the-counter drug normally deadens the pain enough that I can fall asleep. Today I will take the bottle to school with me in case I need to mask the pain in my head that still makes itself felt.

Today I am grateful that there are painkillers that a person can buy without a prescription. They definitely help lessen pain and discomfort.

What have you been grateful for this week?

  1. I keep Ibuprofen in business! Getting older seems to bring forth bad necks and knees and all sorts, but I feel so much better when I take a tablet. Saying that it’s certainly not every day, but I’m most grateful they’re there when I need them. (That headache’s probably cause by calorie counting Colleen! 🙂 )

      1. I really do think food and headaches are sometimes related, but there seem to be many triggers, one being disrupted sleep patterns and tiredness. I wasn’t serious about your diet, just teasing, but who knows! 🙃

  2. I’m sorry you weren’t feeling well. I find that if I take one pill as it starts I avoid taking several pills when it’s too much. I’ve also found for the headaches that start in my shoulders/neck that an application of a medicated cream (starts with a v) often prevents a big headache.
Hopefully you won’t need to worry about it for a while.

    1. I decided to stay home for one day and that helped a lot. I spent the day resting and sleeping as the previous night I hadn’t slept too well because of the pain. Luckily I don’t suffer from migraines too often 🙂
