Weekend Coffee Share: A Short Week

weekend coffee share logo hosted at parttimemonsterblog.comIf we were having coffee, I would tell you that it feels a little chilly this morning. Yes, the temperatures have dropped this week. Tuesday it was very cold in my classroom – so cold I was wearing my coat inside! To feel a little warmer, we had to go and spend some time outside. I am happy to say that the furnace at the school has beenΒ fixed and now it is a little warmer inside!

If we were having coffee, I would tell you that this week has flown by. Because it was Thanksgiving on Monday, we had only 4 working days. As the week ended, I could not help wishing that we had more four-day weeks during the year. I believe that we work too much and do not spend enough time enjoying our lives. I know that I spend a lot of the weekend recovering from the work-day week and often wish for the extra day so that I can spend time doing more than just resting and doing household chores..

If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I am starting to get to know the quirks and personalities of the children in my class. We have shared a few laughs, and sometimes I can’t help but smiling at things my students say and do (which seems to be the mission of this year’s class clown πŸ™‚ ). We are still working on improving their stamina for focusing on their work but, little by little, we are getting there.

If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I have had a good week but that I am feeling a little tired today. I think I will be taking a nap this afternoon!

What would you tell me if we were having coffee?

  1. Ugh, no fun being cold inside, glad your heat got fixed. Working with kids must be something! The stories teachers must have.. πŸ™‚

  2. Thank you for the coffee. Glad to hear you have heat in the classroom now. In our school they also wait till a certain date to turn on the furnace. If it gets cold before that….oh well! 😊 Hope you enjoyed your nap!

  3. Hi c!
Glad the furnace is fixed – -and we had the space heater on in the bonus room -which is the official sign that colder weather is here.
And I think more jobs should have lots of 3 day weekends throughout the year – it could be very beneficial !
Hope you have an nice rest of the month too …

      1. Yes -‘sounds like a fun way to end – and your thanksgiving post really got me in the mood for our US thanksgiving.

I also meant to write on your writing page – but good luck with getting your writing projects chipped away at-how fun!
I am finally getting to mine and having older kids (college) really has freed me up – but distractions still come so it takes pushing on…

        1. Teaching little ones a second language means that they do not write too much – especially at the beginning of the year. Now that Thanksgiving is over, I am thinking of writing activities for Halloween πŸ™‚

  4. I would tell you I enjoy your blog, being connected on FB now, sharing my latest knitting and hearing about what you are crocheting. 🌞We are still having a warm week, just after I put on the flannel sheets. Oooops

  5. Glad they got your furnace fixed. It’s miserable to be cold.

Teaching is such a wonderful profession, but it is tiring. I remember when I was teaching, I would come home exhausted. Thank you for all you do for the kids.
