Grateful for Time

A month has passed since the school year ended and I am feeling rested and ready to begin the new academic year. Yesterday I did a search on the internet for centre activities for my classroom – and purchased a few on a website I have found: Teachers Pay Teachers. I printed the games and word cards that I had found, then began the task of preparing them for my class. I create the cards to last and, because I want them to look good, I take my time to create them. Yesterday afternoon I spent time cutting. Today I will glue the games onto card and then cut them for lamination.

This week I am grateful for the time I have as I begin to prepare for the first day of school. I am not yet able to go into my classroom (my room has not yet been cleaned by the caretaker) but I can begin doing what planning I can at home. The time allows me to prepare a little everyday with no looming deadline.

What have you been grateful for this week?

Processed with RookieLast week:

Lavender Ladi was grateful for cool evening walks.

Laura was grateful for her love.

  1. I remember those days preparing to open a classroom again. You’re right — it is so much more fun when you’re not cramming two weeks worth of work into 3 days before Meet the Parents day. Hope you have a wonderful year!

  2. So glad I found this post and your gratitude challenge. I did two posts over the week and have shared them with another community, The Weekend Coffee Share. I love the way people has responded to my gratitude posts and I was hoping to share that with you. I am also a teacher (to college students) and school has started early for us (June). I love teaching and learning from my students at the same time. Good luck on the new school year.

    1. Nice to meet you and I hope to read your gratitude posts more often 🙂
Our school year starts in September. I am currently planning a little bit everyday but will be able to set up my room in the last week of August. I post quite a bit about what happens in my room – and I look forward to reading about your experiences.
