Five Minute Friday: Morning

Mornings are my favourite part of the day.

It is a time of quiet before the hustle and bustle of life begins. It is a time of reflection. A time of solitude.

Morning is the time I do my best thinking. My mind is well rested and filled with ideas and thoughts; it is not yet slowed by the fatigue that engulfs me as the day ends. Morning is the best time for me to write, to plan my lessons, to think about my goals. The beginning of the dayย is the best time for me to spend in reflection: about my life, who I am, and where I need to me.

I am a morning person. I get up and open the curtains to greet the day. During the winter, I see darkness and am blessed to observe the colours of the sunrise as I eat breakfast. During the summer, I greet the dawn with pleasure and listen for the sound of the singing birds.

The morning has come to be my “me” time. As the rest of my household sleeps, I spend time alone in quiet and reflection.

  2. It’s not like I get annoyed when woken up to, but I am not a morning person. Just thinking about all those “thinking” makes me not want to think at all. ๐Ÿ™‚ It’s true. It’s that time of the day where the things you’ve been thinking about become fresh and take shape. I’m more of an afternoon person. ๐Ÿ˜€

    1. My family know not to ask me anything in the evening. Reviewing of my children’s essays, for example, is best done in the morning. All I need to do is set the alarm clock a little earlier. ๐Ÿ™‚

            1. It is certainly not pleasant. We do experience colder days than this – and then many people stay indoors. Today was not too cold though as the children played in the snow and many people were out during the day. It is a question of getting used to these frigid temperatures ๐Ÿ™‚
