Black & White Sunday: Light

During the winter months, we need to use lamps in our place in order to see. I try to read by the lamplight but I often give up and switch on the TV as I find the light is not bright enough. Our place does not have overhead lighting and I often find it to be a disadvantage.

We have made the decision to go shopping for more lamps. Now to find the desire to enter a crowded store on a busy weekend afternoon!

Do you read by lamplight?

  1. I seem to find overhead lighting too harsh to read by comfortably. It’s more comfortable for me if I have a couple of table lamps on in the room — especially if one can be on a table beside my chair. Have you ever tried one of the little reading lights that you can attach to your book? Some of those are very good, and they allow you to read anywhere — even if you’re in a room where someone else is sleeping.

Hope you find the kind of lights that will make your home comfortable and full of light.

  2. Sometimes I read by the light of my computer screen. It can be pretty bright. I also find that I need to take advantage of reading my ebooks so the light of the phone is there. Have you considered getting a light that attaches to your book? Even though I read ebooks, I still prefer the hard (or soft) copy in my hands. Also, I want to say that I am going to comment on your Coffee posts. Sometimes I have so much I want to say, it would take two or three cups of coffee. Lol…

    1. I love long visits 🙂
I like handling paperbacks as well. Ebooks are fine but I cannot flip backwards so easily if I want to. I am going to look into getting a light to go on my book – it would make my reading in the evening so much easier.
