A Pair of Books

I have a pair of books on my TBR (to be read) pile that were written by bloggers I have followed for a few years now: T.B.Markinson at 50yearproject.wordpress.com and John Amici at fromthebartolinikitchens.wordpress.com.

This weekend I decided I needed a break from working and planning my lessons. To relax, I made a cup of tea and opened T.B’s latest novel. I did not regret my action.

Did you relax a little with a book this weekend?

This post was inspired by Hugh’s Photo Challenge. The prompt this week is: pair)

  1. The Miracle girl sounds like an interesting book Colline.

No such luck this side. I have to watch movies. I have mono vision and presbyopia in the one eye, so that makes it difficult to read, especially with my glasses on and I get terrible headaches then. I only use my glasses when watching movies or when I am on the computer.

  2. I used to follow TBM but haven’t caught up with her in a while so didn’t know about this one. She’s prolific, isn’t she? Looks like an interesting read. 🙂 I am scurrying to reach the end of Joyce Carol Oates ‘Daddy Love’. I hate it and have skimmed quite a few bits but she is just such an incredible writer!

    1. TB is certainly publishing stories frequently – and she writes that she is in the process of publishing her next one.
It is a pity when you enjoy an author’s writing but you cannot tolerate one of the stories. Hope you finish “Daddy Love” soon so that you can move on to the next enjoyabe book.

  3. Well funny you should mention your TBR pile because I just moved my stack (6 books right now) to a more visible place – to remind me to find the time for them!
However – I did find time to read an unexpected book. I bought two used books about guns to give to some friends who are into guns all of a sudden – and I started the bio if Winchester and totally got sucked in to his business background and patents for men’s shirts that do not pull???
Anyhow, I have a few blogger books to get to – and hope to get copies of them before 2015 ends – the year went fast.

    1. You are so right about moving the TBR pile to a more visible place. I currently have two piles – one next to my bed and another tucked away in a corner. The pile next to my bed was too high so I had to divide them! 🙂

      1. That’s a good idea to divide them – and I knew you were a “reader” – I am more of a skimmer – and then have times of diving in more like u serious readers (if that makes sense.
Also – there was this talk show host who was not the best – but one of his questions used to be “what books are on the nightstand?” And it was always fun to hear what folks had waiting –

  4. Thank you, Colline, for the gracious recommendation of our book. It’s wonderful to think that Mom, through her recipes, will be visiting so many kitchens around the world.

  5. A beautiful idea Colline, to relax with a fellow bloggers book, pondering on your post, I wonder how many bloggers actually have produced books or collections of writings, apart from the professional writers, an interesting thought, I know of two in my followers but there must be many more succesful scribes.
