Many plants cannot survive outside in the cooler days especially those that thrive in the heat of summer. On Friday I was asked to look after the planters that are normally placed at the entrance of the school until the warmer spring days. I took in the geraniums gladly, knowing that they would bring life and colour into the classroom. I enjoy seeing the greenery each day as I step into the room and I take pleasure in the colour of the remaining flowers.

This week I am grateful for the plants that have been brought into my room.
What have you been grateful for this week?
Last week:
Kat was grateful for Miriam.

I enjoy reading what others are grateful for – the posts make me think of other things I am happy to have in my life. Please remember to send me a pingback so that I know you have participated.
You did right dear Colline, they are going to give blossoms even in the winter too, of course indoors with the sun… I can understand you, because I am same as you. Thank you, love, nia

Plants are such a great thing to have in the classroom. In his book “Wrapped in Living” (http://www.tonyryan.com.au/home/store/#!/Wrapped-In-Living/p/17890181/category=4212018), Tony Ryan says that a potplant in the classroom can help create a peaceful environment. He says, “A beautiful potplant can add interest and freshness to your surroundings. This is important, because the quality of your external environment can strongly determine the quality of your internal environment.” 🙂

The geraniums will brighten your room and the children will enjoy having them there and perhaps helping you take care of them.

That is my plan. One of the responsibilities in the class will be to water the plants.

Beautiful idea of vibrant colourful plants in the classroom Colline.
Flowers have a relaxing effect, which surely must enhance a learning environment for little minds.

I love geraniums too, Colleen. They were my grandfather’s favorite plant. I always think of him when I smell them. 🙂 So glad you’re enjoying them in the classroom too.
