Reading Centre

My aim is to create centres in my classroom that my students can visit during the day and I hope to bring the idea I have in my mind to fruition within the next few months. The one centre that is now as I wish it to be is the reading centre:

The mat, the cushions, the rocking chair and the plush animals all serve to invite the children to spend time in this corner and enjoy a book or two. Throughout the day there are many visitors to this centre. It has become a happy place for the children while they immerse themselves in the words and pictures of a storybook. I enjoy seeing them relax for a while on the cushions reading with an animal in their arms.
