This school year I will be teaching a grade 1 and grade 2 combined class and as a result, I was moved from the kindergarten room into a new space. I do not yet have all the furniture I need, nor all of the materials. However, this is my third year setting up a new space and I have learned that everything will come with time.

Even though I have had to start from scratch again, I am grateful to be where I am as I enjoy teaching grade 1. I look forward to the start of the school year and to creating a beautiful classroom environment with my students.
What have you been grateful for this week?
Last week Lavender Ladi was greateful for a TED talk on gratefulness.

I enjoy reading what others are grateful for – the posts make me think of other things I am happy to have in my life. Please remember to send me a pingback so that I know you have participated.
without teacher and students seemed to me strange dear Colline 🙂 I missed to be n the school 🙂 May I come to your new class as a student, it doesn’t matter for me ages… 🙂 Good Luck dear, I am sure things will be fine in days… I can hear the sound in the classroom now 🙂 Thank you, love, nia

This week I am grateful for the return of warmer weather. Fall seemed to be coming much too soon! Also grateful for the nice people I ‘meet’ through the blogs. It is a whole new world!

I can’t wait to see how your classroom looks after you get it established. Please share some photos. Year one is my favourite year – so full of promise and excitement. But I think you are teaching French immersion. That will be an amazing experience.
This week I am grateful that I found a wonderful software program that has enabled me to make some of the interactive resources I have planned for my website. 🙂

I will share some photos with you later on in the year Norah – especially as I enjoy sharing the children’s progress 🙂
What is the software called that you have found? And what are your plans in using it?

I look forward to seeing the photos as well as hearing about your year and the children’s progress.
The program is Storyline 2 and it enables me to make interactive teaching episodes that I will make available on the website I am preparing content for at the moment. I am very excited about having found this resource. When I first looked at it I didn’t think I’d be able to use it to do what I wanted. But one day, in a flash of inspiration, I realised that if I changed the way I was thinking about it, I could! I’m very excited. Thanks for asking. 🙂

Oh, the start of a new term! I used to love it and feel fearful in equal measure, I think for the whole of my career. When in primary the fear would be gone within moments of meeting my new class. When I moved to secondary, the edginess lasted the first week until I had met each of my new classes at least once. I absolutely loved my job!
What am I grateful for this week? For the skill of the surgeon who has now fitted me with two new hips. No 2 is now feeling easier and I can do all my exercises! Yippee!
All the best to you for the new school year. 🙂

What a wonderful thing to be grateful for – mobility. It is something that I know I often take for granted. Thank you for sharing your story with us.

A vacant room and an empty class, am sure that soon the teacher and students, will fill it with dreams and ideas, fun and laughter.
A new beginning for eager minds.
