Grateful for Movies

During the Summer, we take the time to watch more movies than we usually do. On Tuesday mornings I take my girls to the cinema to watch stories on the big screen. They enjoy the experience and always look forward to this vacation treat. I do admit that I do not always get them popcorn (I feel it is overpriced), but they enjoy the event anyway.

During the Summer we are also able to have a Sunday evening movie night. After dinner, the five of us settle down in front of our TV to watch a show the family has agreed on. The length of the film does not matter as the only one who has to get up early in the morning is my husband – and he is a late owl. Our choice ranges from Family Movies, to Anime, to Super Hero Films (and these we love!).

I am grateful for movies this week because, not only do the visuals take you to a never-visited place to experience something different, but they also help to bring families together.

What have you been grateful for this week?

Last week Lavender Ladi was greateful for her son’s spirit of adventure.

I enjoy reading what others are grateful for – the posts make me think of other things I am happy to have in my life. Please remember to send me a pingback so that I know you have participated.

  1. I never say no to movie-time or in my case, it’s mostly series. I’m forever grateful for my loved ones, the internet and great actors. 😀

Lovely post and share Colline. ♥

  2. Lots to be grateful for today, Colline! A 26th wedding anniversary, a beautiful sunny day, some of which was spent lazily in my garden with a book and some doing t’ai chi outdoors(a rarity indeed) with my group. And then a lovely meal at a restaurant in our marina, followed by a stroll. A 10 out of 10 day! 🙂

      1. The renovations are nearly-but-not-quite ready for us to take occupation. Meanwhile the builders have had to divert their energies to projects where the owners have nowhere else to stay. At least we manage in the ‘cottage’.

  3. My pleasure this week was to find reruns of old Western movies being shown again, my wife doesn’t like them but I like them as they are far opposed to the sci fi and crime shows we get inundated with, plus they are great to see early actors who became great screen actors.
Lovely to read that your whole family can enjoy a movie together.
    Regards.

    1. My husband enjoys those movies too – it reminds him of his childhood when he used to go to the cinema to watch them. They don’t make them any more do they? The last I remember was the films Clint Eastwood did.
