A New Beginning

Walking down the cobbled streets, Amy stared in awe. She had saved for years to experience this. The archways and the old world architecture lifted her spirits. She felt that she had come home, returned to the place where her spirit belonged. She thought of what she had left behind: a dark, oppressing place filled with hateful memories. She preferred her new environment: one filled with light and hope. She hastened down the walkway – she did not want to be late for her first day at her new place of work. The interview had been filled with promise and she was determined to see that its promise was fulfilled.

        1. Is that the fiction you write on Mondays? I tried to find the post where you describe the expectations for the flash fiction but could not find it. I would appreciate it if you send me the link as I would love to join in.

  1. A dream of mine! Would be a tad easier had I not two teenagers! Mind you, I would not be leaving anything dark or oppressing but the idea of going out and starting something brand-new appeals to me!
