Grateful for Hotel Holiday

Once the school year was over, I packed our bags to accompany my husband on a business trip to Phoenix. While hubby worked, my girls and I planned to relax in an environment other than our home. We were excited as it was to be our first time living in a hotel. We had booked a room at the Sheraton Crescent in Phoenix – and were surprised to receive a key card that allowed us acess to the Club floors. My girls were excited and, during our stay, took turns in inserting our key pass before pressing the number of the floor we were on.

When we entered our room for the first time, we loved it. The room looked so neat and comfortable. As soon as we entered the room, my girls could not resist jumping on the beds.

After a good night’s sleep and a tasty breakfast, my girls and I began our routine. Mornings and afternoons were spent by the pool while the heat of the midday sun was avoided. I enjoyed reading by the poolside (I completed four books from my bedside pile while away!), and swimming in the refreshing water. Slathering sunscreen on myself did not prevent me from burning – a redness which has now turned brown.

This week I am grateful for the opportunity we had to experience hotel life in Phoenix. My husband was grateful for the company on his business trip; and I was grateful for the sunshine, the relaxation, and the chance to experience something new.

What have you been grateful for this week?

  1. Looked like a great getaway for you and your girls, Colline. The hotel certainly looks charming and cozy. Lots of pillows too 😀 Glad you all spent time outdoors in the sun – always refreshing and energising 🙂

  2. What a terrific getaway. Looks wonderful – and four books read? Wow!

While you were away, my youngest, Laura, gave birth to grandson Charles Joseph. I am so grateful there are no words!
