Follow Your Heart

Do you follow your heart each day?

When you feed the kids; do the chores; sit on the train to go to work.

Do you follow your heart each day?

When you listen to the complaints of co-workers; or care for an elderly parent.

Do you follow your heart each day?

When the bills wait to be paid; and deadlines need to be met.

Do you follow your heart each day?

Or does duty, responsibility, being an adult, wear you down.

Grab onto something:

A dream, a wish, a desire,

And work to make it reality.

Follow your heart each day

And you will find the contentment you look for,

A sense of achievement and fulfilment.

Follow your heart each day.

  1. Well written again! I always try to give others the pleasure not myself- meaning I am usually not following my heart but my brain!

  2. Following my heart to blog…most days yes. Some days I’m so thankful for this tiny space in the vast internet to connect with women like you who think like me! Colline…you are dear. Thanks for visiting my blog yesterday, and I loved this post! I’m a God Sized Dreamer…but sometimes I forget to go ahead and dream and DO. Hope we find a little dream to dance through today and in the days ahead…bringing dreams to life is God’s way of bringing hope into reality. 🙂 Have a lovely weekend! Jenn

    1. I am thankful for this space too and the opportunity to connect with people like you – it has only enriched my life. Let us both dream a little in the next weeks and believe in ourselves that we can make them a reality. God bless Jenn 🙂

  3. Hmmmm…good question. I don’t think I always do, too often I find myself doing what I think I have to do, rather than what my heart tells me to do.

  4. I love this, Colline. It’s a good question to ask every day. Some days I get so into the routine of things that I forget to listen to my heart. ♥ Thank you for the reminder. 🙂
