Grateful for Old Crochet Magazines

Not only did my mother send me a beautiful quilt through my cousin, but she sent some old crochet magazines as well.

I remember browsing through these magazines when I was a teenager, looking for something to make. Now as I page through them, I remember sitting on the bed with my mom looking at them;  and I remember her teaching me how to read the diagrams and work the stitches. I am grateful this week, not only for the vintage patterns found in these magazines, but also for the memories that they bring to my mind.

  1. Lovely gratitude post, Colline. I’m sure you’re going to find something really challenging to make as our next project. It’s really great that your mom taught you so much when you were young. I’m grateful for the sunshine and the beautiful birds outside my window. 🙂

      1. I’ve probably clipped a few coupons from some of the magazines………only to get home and realize they had expired years ago. The doctors always have such up to date magazines. lol

  2. how cute to read you would have been tempted to take a pattern home if you saw these in the waiting room! 🙂
and I love the shot of the mags all spread out – had me looking and looking

    1. I have asked the receptionist in a waiting room if I could take home a magazine before – the article was interesting and I hadn’t finished. After looking at the publication date, she said “No problem” 🙂
