Searching for Inspiration

This weekend I finished a crochet project and am now searching for the next project I can work on. This morning I turned to some old crochet magazines my mom had given me.

The pieces look beautiful and certainly make my fingers itch to try something new.

I may not make one of the items in the magazines, but the photos of projects will certainly inspire me to create something beautiful.

  1. As an artist I find inspiration in many things. At the cottage I’m inspired by nature around me and at home it can be as simple as a pattern in an apron that I own. My last art piece was partially driven by that apron.

  2. Some times it comes from just a word.. or, a phrase-other times it comes from an emotion, or feeling.. and then there are the times… it doesn’t seem to show up at all… till I run in to it with my creative eyes closed and it knocks me down… Oh, now I see-said the blind man.

  3. I’m not sure which is more difficult, trying to come up with a new idea or having so many ideas flying around in your head that you can’t focus on one in particular!! I make fabric wall tiles, and get so many different ones started at once, jump from one to the next, have multitudes of fabric scattered, that I drive myself crazy! The fabric inspires me. ~SueBee

          1. and did you ever notice that on the 5th time perusing you see a little something you missed – like an ad or something in a picture – I hope they never do away with “real” magazines –

  4. good to have an inspiring mom! I usually write on paper in stenography. Maybe you know my mom gave me into an orphanage. When I found her 40 years later, I was surprised, that she had a little paper blank like me – and wrote poems into her little book – in stenography. Sometimes the influence seems to live inside of us…

  5. Inspiration for me can be anywhere 🙂 I can’t say a special thing for this. But I follow some of magazines, for example, Rakam (Italian) and Verena (German)… I can find something in there… Right now, I am trying to complete the yarns that all have remained from other projects. I don’t want to waste them… Muses be with you dear Colline, Thanks and Have a nice day and new week, love, nia

    1. I did a few when I was living with my mom and had access to her magazines. Once you understand the pattern, it is doable. For me, it is certainly easier to follow the diagram as opposed to the written instructions.
