An Unexpected Gift

My ECE went home over the winter break – to Paris! How I wished I could go with her to see that lovely city once again. When she came back, however, she gave me an unexpected gift that gave me a little bit of that fair city.

The mug is beautiful and is currently being displayed on my bookshelf. It will move to the kitchen cupboard and be used when space has been made.

I will certainly enjoy drinking from this surprise gift – and each time I do so, I will remember my visit of long ago and think of ways in which my family and I can visit in the future.

What was the last unexpected gift you received?

  1. My sister loves Paris. She’s visited there twice and is thinking of going back soon and renting an apartment so that she can stay much longer. If it weren’t for her 4 grandkids being in the States, I think she’d move there permanently.

    1. I love that mug, by the way. And I’m a “mug” person. I have some from almost every place I’ve traveled, and whenever I see a new one that catches my eye, I buy one more. There’s no place to put all of them now, but I think I’m addicted. I enjoy using each one, but it takes a long time to give each one its turn.

      1. I am keeping this one safe for the moment Sandra as I do not want it to get broken – our cupboard is currently filled with mugs that have been given to me by my students. 🙂

  2. nice take on the b & w challenge
and it looks like a quality mug too – and I sometimes wrestle with using them vs. storing them – and this one would be hard to use – but then hard not to use – oh I dunno – 🙂
