We are currently having problems with our internet: the speed is slow; and at times we do not have access. The experience is frustrating – especially for my husband as he tries to sort out the problem. The last few days, however, have shown me how much I enjoy having access to the the world wide web – and how much I use it. The internet allows me to:
- Search for information at will. When I wanted to find out the size of a baby blanket, for example, I turned to my good friend Google 🙂
- Blog. I enjoy writing on my space; and I have come to enjoy the communication that follows on what has been written. I find pleasure as well in reading what other people have written – and their photos always take me to places I have not seen.
- Browse my Facebook feed and see what my family are doing. This form of social media gives me the opportunity to keep in touch with people with whom I would otherwise no longer communicate.
- Skype my mom. The video communication is not as good as the real deal – but it is a good compromise.
As I encourage my husband to preserver and solve our internet woes, I feel grateful that we the chance to use this technology.
