Grateful for the Internet

We are currently having problems with our internet: the speed is slow; and at times we do not have access. The experience is frustrating – especially for my husband as he tries to sort out the problem. The last few days, however, have shown me how much I enjoy having access to the the world wide web – and how much I use it. The internet allows me to:

  • Search for information at will. When I wanted to find out the size of a baby blanket, for example, I turned to my good friend Google 🙂
  • Blog. I enjoy writing on my space; and I have come to enjoy the communication that follows on what has been written. I find pleasure as well in reading what other people have written – and their photos always take me to places I have not seen.
  • Browse my Facebook feed and see what my family are doing. This form of social media gives me the opportunity to keep in touch with people with whom I would otherwise no longer communicate.
  • Skype my mom. The video communication is not as good as the real deal – but it is a good compromise.

As I encourage my husband to preserver and solve our internet woes, I feel grateful that we the chance to use this technology.

  2. Internet is a wonderful thing. In seconds I can chat with my son when I feel like it. It makes life more pleasant . Great new year to you and your family. May your best dreams come true

  3. It always happens when you have some quiet time that you think you’ll use just for browsing! Some days I send up a little prayer when I put the laptop on and it ‘thinks’ long and hard before connecting me. 🙂 🙂
    Happy New Year, Colline!
