Grateful for a Friend’s Visit

Yesterday I had a visit from a friend of mine whom I had not seen for two years. I experienced such joy when I opened our apartment door and I saw her face and the faces of her growing children. Seeing her brought back so many of the moments we had spent together: the conversations we had had, the walks we had taken, the times we had spent watching our children play in the park. The years we had spent apart disappeared and we spoke as if we had seen one another only last week. When her family left at the end of the day, the time we had spent together seemed too short – and yet it was enough to sooth the longing I had had to see her.

This week I am grateful for the chance I had to see a very dear friend. I am grateful for the moments we had to chat and drink a cup of coffee together. I am grateful as well for the time our children had to reconnect. I am hoping that it will not take too long until our next meeting.

Thank you for last week’s contributions. I enjoy reading what others are grateful for – the posts make me think of other things I am happy to have in my life. Please remember to send me a pingback so that I know you have participated.

  1. Beautiful that you had that great friendship reunion.
Makes me wonder on just how many friends we do lose touch with over the years.
Distance and changes in lifes circumstances account for a lot.
I had a chance to attend a reunion of army mates from over forty years ago,
it seemed like only a few years back and the years rolled away.
    Regards
