Last weekend I completed the Christmas gift that I have been working on for my son. I had joined the squares a few weeks ago and then started crocheting the border.
When I finished the task I had set for myself, the blanket looked huge. Looking at the border, I liked that I had made it wide and that I had completed the edging in yellow.
I lay the blanket on my bed to see the full effect:
I am very pleased with the way this bedspread has turned out. I look forward to seeing my son’s reaction when he opens his gift on Christmas day.
Have you made any gifts yet for this Christmas?

I love that bedspread Colline. Was it hard? Where did you find the pattern?

It is very simple to make Colleen. I did the basic granny square. These particular one were eighteen rows , alternating the colour every two rows. The border is also the granny square stitch. If you are interesting, I can try writing the pattern as the combination of stitches and colours is my own.

Thank you. Those colours were chosen by my son. He knows I am making him one but he hasn’t seen me make it. (I have hidden the work away each time he has visited.)
