A Completed Christmas Gift

Last weekend I completed the Christmas gift that I have been working on for my son. I had joined the squares a few weeks ago and then started crocheting the border.

When I finished the task I had set for myself, the blanket looked huge. Looking at the border, I liked that I had made it wide and that I had completed the edging in yellow.

I lay the blanket on my bed to see the full effect:

I am very pleased with the way this bedspread has turned  out. I look forward to seeing my son’s reaction when he opens his gift on Christmas day.

Have you made any gifts yet for this Christmas?

    1. It is very simple to make Colleen. I did the basic granny square. These particular one were eighteen rows , alternating the colour every two rows. The border is also the granny square stitch. If you are interesting, I can try writing the pattern as the combination of stitches and colours is my own.

    1. Thank you. Those colours were chosen by my son. He knows I am making him one but he hasn’t seen me make it. (I have hidden the work away each time he has visited.)

  1. Not yet and I can tell you it will not be a crochet. Yours looks beautiful and I would love one to cover my bed with. I will probably buy the gifts this year 😉

  2. It is so beautiful dear Colline. I do admire you, you are teacher, mother, wife and you make all these works too. It would have been so nice if we live in the same city, even in the same apartment 🙂 You are a good and nice friend. Love, you, Blessing and Happiness, Thank you dear, love, nia
