The clowns at the Santa Parade are in a group of their own. They are certainly crowd pleasers and they cause many giggles among the younger audience. We watched a group for a bit while everyone was waiting for the parade to begin

The costumes were colourful and eye-catching. My cousin noted that South Africa had influenced those who were carrying the vuvuzela. One would never have thought that those noise-makers from the 2010 soccer world cup would be featured in the Toronto Santa parade.

The clown costumes were interspersed with the other costumes as they marched down the streets.

Some clown costumes were more colourful than others:

These clowns were fun as they performed for the audience:

I liked especially the clowns that interacted with the audience – especially when they spoke with the young children.

This clown’s face was not covered with make-up but her costume was certainly eye-catching:

I loved these dustbin clowns. What characters!

The clowns are an integral part of the parade as they provide comic relief while we wait for the marching bands and the floats.
Do you enjoy watching the antics of the clowns?

I didn’t know what a vuvuzela was or at least never knew the term. I wonder if I could sing to one. 🙂
I once wore a clown costume and it really can change how you feel and what you do. Can turn the prissy missy into a wild thing. 😦

I don’t think singing would work with the vuvuzela. Here is a clip highlighting the sounds ::)

My thoughts exactly 🙂
You don’t need to listen to more than a little bit as the sound remains constant.

Lots of fun, Colline, though I do find clowns a little spooky sometimes. 🙂
Did you take these images with your phone? I’m still getting around to using Instagram but not very confident about the whole thing.

I have a mini iPad which fits perfectly into my handbag and which takes nicer videos than my camera (I had to video my daughter 🙂 ). I instagrammed the pictures later to make them look a little more interesting.

I’m still working out how to use Instagram effectively, Colline. That’s why I asked. I’m not a fan of ‘instant’ exposure. I like to see what I’ve taken photos of on my laptop first, which sort of destroys the concept a bit, doesn’t it? I’m still learning. 🙂

I do t use Instagram the way I am supposed to then. Sometimes I post the pictures a few days after I have taken them 🙂

It was colourful and many people were out there smiling – and not because of the cold 🙂

That’s a lot oh clowns all in one place. What if there’s a need for giggles somewhere else? 😃

Like Jo, I find some clowns sinister! But these seem like fun 🙂

They all seemed very friendly – and I did not see any children who cried when they approached 🙂
