On Saturday, I prepared my daughter’s uniform for the Santa Parade that took place on Sunday. She joined the marching band this year at the high school she attends and was very excited to participate in the parade. I moved press studs on the jacket and fixed the closing which had been broken. I also made sure that everything was still attached (the uniform belongs to the school and has been worn by many children over the years).

As I lay the uniform out on my bed after I had made the adjustments, I could not help thinking how grateful I am that my daughter is able to participate in the Santa Parade. Not only does the parade offer her an opportunity to play her flute, but it also gives her a chance to give something to her community. As my husband said to her on Sunday after the event, she was given a chance to bring a moment of joy to many children and adults with her playing and marching.
What have you been grateful for this week?

Take a photo of your daughter in uniform, Colline. The orples might want to join the fun—hint, hint—keep them in mind as you click away. LOL. π

My daughter has told me I am not allowed to post any pictures of her on my blog – thus no pictures of her in her uniform π¦

She will recall this and other childhood events for years. π I think it is good that you are letting her decide if her picture is posted. The costume is nice and I am sure she looks adorable.

It is freezing! Yesterday the temperature reached a low of -16C. The cold is a little early this year and we are not psychologically ready for it!
