On Saturday I was walking down streets I have walked down for years in all types of weather. What I enjoy most about this time of year is the beauty of the Fall trees.

I enjoy the blanket of leaves that fall on the ground and do not mind at all that they have not been swept up.

We have had many windy days and I am saddened to see that some trees are almost leafless.

And yet many trees are still ablaze with colour even though their branches are not full.

The blaze of colour mixed in with the green is a sight I enjoy seeing: so much so that I look up as I pass by.

Even though I walk these streets many times, each time I enjoy the sights before me.
Do you enjoy seeing the colour of Fall in your neighbourhood streets?

Glorious colours, Colline. They transform the most ordinary place, don’t they? 🙂 I was walking again this morning but the camera battery was flat. Just as well- I have more photos than I know what to do with! Many thanks for joining in. 🙂

Can’t say that is my excuse – I just forget to bring something to take pictures with 🙂
Glad you liked the walk Jo.

Just yesterday my family and I walked some New Forest paths for these colours.. my daughter loved it very much especially when we picked up some chestnuts… memory from my childhood chestnut foraging… 😉

Oh, you have so much more colour than we have here. Trees are turning, but most are still quite green. Thanks for showing us your neighbourhood 🙂

We had quite a few cold snaps Jude. Apparently the quick drop in temperatures is what causes the leaves to turn into those beautiful colours.

That’s right. Still warm here. I suspect that a lot of leaves will just be blown off before they get a chance to change.

What a pity that will be. I have come to love Fall here – and one of the reasons is the colours of the leaves.

Lovely photos. I too love the Fall colours and the changes we see from one day to the next. We live in the country and have the luxury of not having to rake or sweep our leaves. They make a colourful carpet and will either blow away on the wind or be covered by the snow!

What beautiful views you must see – not only of the trees but also of the grounds.

I’ve never really lived any place where there is a big display of fall colors in the trees. Your photos show me what I’m missing, and it’s gorgeous!

I never really understood its beauty until I moved here to the colder climes Alex. It helps to accept the cold a little 🙂

I also love it before all the leaves have been raked. Though, I will admit to sometimes deliberately walking through a pile of leaves, just to hear the noise 😉

I enjoy the sound too – especially when the leaves has dried in the sun for a few days 🙂

There are few days prettier than a sunny fall day, Colline. Walking through a park or down a maple tree-lined street is like walking in a masterpiece.

I agree with you John. And what beautiful paintings the views would make.

Such beautiful and bright colours Colline and stunning shots hon. I also love seeing the leaves on the ground and grass. Around here I keep a layer of them in the flower beds so they can turn into compost. 😀

The leaves are a good compost, aren’t they? And the best thing about it is that it is completely natural.

Beautiful pictures of the fallen leaves.
The should not be swept up, they really give a natural ambience to the season
and a pleasure to the eye, quite relaxing.

I agree with you Emu. At least the sweeping up is done only after Halloween. Until next Saturday, I can enjoy the sight of fallen leaves on the ground 🙂
