Grateful for Netflix

While at work on Friday, I realised that I was definitely sick. My throat had been scratchy for a few days and I had felt that I was fighting the onset of a cold. During the day I used so many tissues that one of my students commented on it! After school, I headed immediately for my bedroom when I reached home. Saturday a lot of time was spent under the covers sleeping. When awake, I felt the need to continue lying down and yet did not wish to read.

With the company of my husband, I switched on the TV and settled down to watch a show on Netflix. Two years ago we discovered streaming films and TV shows through Netflix – and loved the choice available. In addition, we lovedthe fact that we could watch things at our own pace. It is true we do not see things as they are aired (and there are certain programmes we do not see at all) but I still enjoy the convenience of it. We do not watch a lot of TV; but when we do, we want to be able to watch something good and not channel surf until we find something worth spending our time on.

This week I was grateful for Netflix. It helped to relieve my boredom while lying in bed during a period of recuperation.

Thank you for last week’s contributions. I enjoy reading what others are grateful for – the posts make me think of other things I am happy to have in my life.

  1. I do agree with this Colline. We do not have any tv service only Netflix. I do miss live sports but also our lives are not controlled by when certain shows are on. We watch on our time!

    1. These are the reasons we stopped paying for cable. And anytime we sat down to relax and watch something, there was never anything suitable showing. Much better to choose our own timetable.

  2. By reading the comments I can see you are doing much better Colline and I am very glad to hear that. I love Netflix as well and that is something I can do for hours and it’s great when you’re not feeling well. Take care of yourself hon. 😀

  3. I loved Merlin!! I watch Netflix at night sometimes while I’m sewing. “Call the Midwife” is one of my favorites. Glad you are feeling better. I love the idea of your Gratitude Day. Always good to count our blessings.

  4. Thanks for posting about Netflix Colline, will have to see if its here in Australia, or if we can access it, hoping you are recovering from whatever you appear to have contracted.
Being sick is a lousy feeling and gets one really down and depressed.
Wishing you a speedy recovery Colline.
