A Spring Walk

Last Saturday I put on my shoes with eagerness. The weather was warmer and I was hoping that this week I would see some flowers.

I was not disappointed. In some gardens the tulips had opened.

And along some rockeries, small flowers were showing their colour.

The budding tree we had walked past the week before had blossomed and we could not help but stop to take some pictures.

I loved seeing the beauty of these flowers and could not resist taking a closer look.

We came across some red tulips that had opened to show their beauty.

I enjoyed especially the little flowers found amongst the greenery.

On my walk yesterday I noticed new flowers had been planted in the beds I pass each day – these will be stunning once they have spread out by summertime.

As I am getting ready to go out today, I am hoping that I see even more flowers that have opened. What a beautiful sight they are after the long, icy winter we have had.

What do you see on your current walks?

    1. I am not too sure Paula. We walk past this tree every Saturday on the way to the library so I will see what grows on it.
Thanks for the compliment on the haircut – I felt I needed something springlike 🙂

  1. Nature at its finest! Colline, I take my walks to always remind me how small a part I am of this lovely world, and how beautiful it is! I am always left with a certain nourishing awe when I return from my walk because of the awesome wonders which daily embrace my vision. Like the images you share, their lives inspire my heart deeply…i guess its the spiritual side of me…but even as I look at your pictures i am filled with a certain joy that stays…thanks for taking me on your walk with you…it was a true delight…have a wonderful weekend…hugs and blessings always!

  2. I second Paula on the haircut, and I can’t possibly answer your question, Colline! You’d have no incentive to read my Monday walks then, would you? (or even join in 🙂 )

      1. Sorry Colline- I’ve been offline watching the tennis in Rome, then a bath 🙂 It’s a Monday walk but you can post any day. I usually link it up to the following week in that case, to even things out. Happy walking!

  3. I love the new header and the new hair. You look like spring — a change of the seasons, a change of the “look.” The photos are spectacular — you walk in a very beautiful place.
My walks take me by plantings of spring bulbs and flowering trees
My favourite is the tiny viola/violets that grow in crevices and cracks, through mulch and rocks, (there is now one at the back corner on the house that grew up through the rocks) in suburban lawns and nature preserves. I wish my camera worked so I could share them.
I look forward to pictures of your next walk!

    1. Your description of the flowers you see sounds beautiful. I love looking at rockeries in gardens – especially when there is unexpected colour peeking out.

  4. Lovely spring flowers around you. It for sure brings a hop in your step when seeing the beauty. Here every thing is turning orange, red, yellow and brown. Autumn has also its own beauty

  5. It’s lovely to hear you enjoying the spring blooms at last Colline ! My goodness it has been sometime coming to your home town .Gorgeous pictures and your new spring look is very nice indeed !

Budding tree never fails to be an excellent subject to take picture of. You obviously proved that.
