This weekend I had the opportunity to watch the sun setting behind a lake. Watching the colours change in the sky in this beautiful setting was peaceful and relaxing.

As we watched the sun sinking, we noticed a change in the brilliant colours of the sky.

The colours were not only illuminating the sky, but were also reflected in the water.

Some were enjoying a sunset ride on the lake:

However, I enjoyed watching the colours ripple on the water from the edge of the lake.

As the sun sank even further, I noticed the blue once again in the sky and water.

The water began to darken, and I knew the sky would soon follow.

It was a wonderful experience watching this sunset. I don’t get much opportunity to do so in the built-up city where I live.
Did you watch the sunset this weekend?

Beautiful photographs. I love to go to the sea and watch the sunset, once the nights draw in earlier I can do it more and take the children. Just now they are in bed when it starts to set so I can’t get there as much as I would like to, may let them stay up one night this week though. 🙂

I waited patiently for the boat to come near enough to fit into my picture. Well worth the wait I think.
