Carefree Speed

When we vacationed in Mauritius, we spend a day on a catamerang. We moved slowly over the water, relaxing on the boat, enjoying the sun and the sea. (You can see these photos in a previous post). While lounging on the boat, a speedboat came by:

You could see the enjoyment of the speed on their faces. The wind seemed to blow away their cares while on the water. I felt no envy of their speed, however, as I enjoyed my carefree day on the slower boat.

Do you enjoy moving swiftly over the ocean’s water?

  1. Colline, I’m happy on the waves, fast or slow, engine, paddle, oar or sail, and Im happy swimming in or under….I guess Im a bit of a water baby. It works like magic rubbing away the edges of my stress and tightness, leaving me soft and relaxed 🙂
I love the look of your catamaran trip 🙂

    1. I am not quite like you – though I do find the sound of the lapping water and the sight of it relaxes and calms me. The day trip on the catamerang was the highlight of the holiday – especially as we saw the dolphins that we wanted to visit 🙂

  2. Admittedly, I like both. I loved steering a speedboat in Brazil. I now enjoy cruising swiftly, letting my thoughts wander. It also depends on your company, and it depends on the location. On our city trips I enjoy gliding on a canal boat or a river ferry. It is so nice and relaxing. 🙂

  3. My husband says that happiness is being on a vessel on the ocean—as long as it isn’t the Titanic.
He took me sailing on our honeymoon and has spent the last 28 years arranging to get us on the water as often as possible.
Your trip looks amazing. Beautiful scenery is often only appreciated from the water looking toward the land! Thanks for the memories.
