Unexpected Laughter

Have you ever joined in laughter when you are not sure why? Ever experienced the bug of laughter? The cliché “laughing is catching” is perfectly captured in this YouTube video:

Did this video make you laugh?

  1. I was definitely smiling. What a great way to start the day!

The video reminded me of when I was 12 years old. My Dad had brought home a small plastic box with a press button. When you pressed the button, you heard laughter that went on for about a minute. I was always giggling within seconds of hearing it.

I took the box to school and showed it to my friend and then I put the ‘laughing box’ in my locker and pressed the button and closed the door and watched the reaction of the other students who did not yet know about the box.

Funnier, was the odd looks that everyone had, wondering where the laughter was coming from and the odd expressions they had while trying to figure out what was going on plus my friend laughing about it.

I wonder where this video was shot. It looks like a European country. I also wondered if the man who entered the train just as the laughter started, wondered if the laughter had something to do with him. He looked a little unsettled 😦

    1. He did didn’t he? I can imagine the thoughts that were running through his head 🙂
Thank you for sharing your story with us Darlene. Did the other students ever discover where the laughter was coming from?

      1. Yes, after I revealed the source. Funny, my friend and I were the only ones laughing. Maybe it was our generation. Children today, seem to have a wonderful sense of humor. They catch on quickly to the subtle implications and find the humor in it.

  2. I have done this on a number of occasions. That man in black who got on in the middle of the laughter must have thought they were laughing at him and he tried to disappear in the crowd. I couldn’t stop laughing myself. Thanks for sharing on this gloomy Monday.
