For the Weekly Photo Challenge, I posted some photos I had taken of a black swan I had encountered at the Casela Nature Park in Mauritius. The swan I featured in my previous post was not the only one I saw that day:
This one was in a larger pond and kept itself aloof from the other water birds.
Even though we were close to this striking bird, we were wary to be too close as neither of us wanted to be pecked by that powerful beak.
We also saw some beautiful white swans. This one opened its wings for us:
And then continued with its grooming routine:
We waited patiently for the swan to finish grooming; but it continued its practice with no thought to our growing impatience.
Eventually our patience won out; but she was not in the mood to slide gracefully in the water.
Maybe that will be for another day. We moved on to our next stop and left the park, satisfied that we had seen a range of beautiful birds and plants.
Which do you find more beautiful? The black or the white swan?
