A Green Challenge

Green is one of the colours that I enjoy: it is a colour that soothes the soul when you are out in nature; and it is a colour that I enjoy eating πŸ™‚

The above photos are small reminders of the vacation our family took in July/August. Now as I look at the world, I see a brown environment – one that in a few months will turn white. It is pleasant to know that when the seasons change, we will once again experience the greenery of nature. And in the meantime, I will still enjoy eating leafy greens.

What are your favourite Green moments?

  1. I always love your photos with commentary!

My fav green moment…spring when I see my perrenials sprout green shoots through the bland brown winter backdrop of ground and dead folliage from fall. As soon as winters’ snow has melted and the weather begins to warm, I get outside and begin to rake away the dead leaves to look for the new growth. It always feels like a new chance – a new beginning..something positive.

I enjoy the simplest of things. This is one of them.

  2. I love it when the farmers around here plant Winter Wheat. In Spring it is the first thing to turn green, and is so vivid it almost hurts the eyes. Loved seeing a blog all about green at this very brown time of year!

  3. I agree about the gecko – it is delightful. I have a friend who gets lots of these little critters in her bathroom, I was so fascinated I had to get the camera out! But a washhand basin is not very attractive habitat for a nice photo! Still, it was fun.
I do like the green shake though, as long as it is creaming soda, not avocado!
