When one truly looks around the world each day, one can feel a sense of amazement at what we can experience each day. We meet people with different personalities and experiences each day. We see the trees swaying in the wind, and the grass covering the landscape. We see the creations that man has made: the cars, the shop fronts, the mobile phones that people have in their hands. And we hear the music that men and women have created.
When thinking of the wonderful world that we live in, and of the beautiful music that has been created, I cannot help thinking of one of my all-time favourite musicians: Louis Armstrong. His husky and gravelly voice with the band instruments accompanying him, bring to mind an era that is long gone. His music, however, lives on. One of my favourite songs of his is the one titled “What a Wonderful World”:
And listening to Louis Armstrong will always lead you to “When the Saints Go Marching In”:
Louis Armstrong: an icon whose music has become an integral part of our wonderful world.
What music would you think has added beauty to our world?

Isn’t he marvellous? No one makes music today like he does – to my knowledge anyway.

Sorry, my first comment was grammatically incorrect, so here it is again:
Yes, Louis Armstrong was great!! Here’s some music I think adds beauty to our world, by Canadian Loreena McKennitt: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o5IGAAfpo_Y&feature=related

Love what Duke Ellington said about Louis Armstrong,,,born poor, died rich, never hurt anyone along the way. Love both of those songs, Colline. Other beautiful music…Vivaldi’s four seasons and anything by Chopin. Clair de lune is also a fav.

I love music. There are just so many beautiful songs/songwriters/composers out there now and in history, it’s difficult to choose one or two that added to the beauty in my life. Some of them would be Andrea Bocelli, Celine Dion, David Gray, Mozart, Bizet, and lots, lots more. 🙂

Ha! I just knew that geometry is all around me. These Geometric things are under my feet, under the desks, on the floors, and every nook and cranny of our house. 😀 While children learn their Geometry, mommy suffers from them. 😉
